Love has no boundaries except those we set ourselves

Of course it can happen. Unfortunately, as in all things, newspapers only report bad news - good news doesn't sell papers. There are also less scrupulous agencies that make men hope that a young beautiful Russian lady will love an old unattractive guy just because he lives in a better country and can guarantee her security.

There are also some 50-year-old men who dream about 18-year-old girls, find them, marry, and then it all goes wrong. These are the same guys that then say that Russian women just want to get into the country. They would never have been in this situation if they had been sensible at the outset and pursued marriage to women nearer their own ages.

Just like anywhere in the world, in Russia some people don't live decently, and some women are ready to do just about anything to live a better life. Once in a relationship with a foreign guy, a woman feels happy to be loved and cared for, and is grateful for changing her life for the better. She may even feel in love when really it's just a temporary crush or intoxication.

Russian and Ukrainian women are used to sacrificing themselves for children, and if she has a child, she can agree to almost anything to ensure that he is safe, will always have good food on the table and money for education, holidays, and a good lifestyle.

A woman can be unhappy in her marriage and still feel lucky to have a better than average lifestyle. Russian women feel happy if their husbands don't drink and have good jobs - Love is not talked about, it's less important. If a woman has a rich husband (a person owing a car, a house, and earning a good salary), people will think she is crazy or stupid if she considers leaving him for lack of love.

But good standards of living are everything only for those that have never had them. When a woman arrives in your country, her attitude can quickly change. Love and a rewarding and active sex life become important conditions of happiness. A lady probably never intended to divorce her older husband from the very beginning, but as time goes by she starts to feel miserable and realizes that she plugged herself into a worse situation than she was previously in. It's two different worlds, not just two different cultures.

Don't let all this put you off! As long as you start your selection of ladies to write to with your eyes wide open, and keep in mind the future as well as now, you will have a great chance of meeting the right lady and creating a fullfilling and happpy long-term future for you both.
