Why do these women seek husbands abroad?

If you ask them this question, their answers will likely be:

1) I want my children to be happy and have a secure future, and it's impossible with the current situation here.
2) There are not enough men in my country to find a good partner.
3) The men here are terrible / inconsiderate / take me for granted / alcoholics.

All the statements are true to some extent but at the same time none of them give you a real reason. The real and fundamental reason why women look for a life partner abroad is that they are not happy in their love life and cannot find a suitable partner in their own country. It's that simple!
 
The demographics behind it are that there are 88 men to every 100 women in Russia - Thats 10 million more women than men! Of course some women are destined to stay single, but the cultural notion for a Russian woman is to get married and have a family. This is a necessary condition of success for a woman. This is why even successful career women feel unfulfilled if they don't have a husband and family, and some of them search for a partner abroad as an option. They do it because they want to meet a suitable partner for marriage.

A married woman, even if she is struggling with everyday surviving and not happy with the Russian 'family model', won't divorce her Russian husband to look for a foreign husband. Russian women do not choose between Russian men and foreign men. They choose between staying single for life and having her own family.Russian women want to be married, to love and be loved. Security and a better life go as a part of the overall package.

Are Ukrainian and Russian womens' personalities different from 'Western' womens'?

Yes, there are differences. Russian and Ukrainian ladies don't have a different character, and they are just like the ladies we know that love shopping and chatting. They are all human beings and they are definitely not perfect. The striking difference is that they are much more patient and can tolerate things that Western women find unbearable. They are far more considerate and dependable. Look on them as partners, not competitors.

Another noticeable difference is thaat many have very low self-esteem. While Western women think that they are goddesses and able to cope with anything on their own, women from ex-USSR countries rarely leave a bad husband because they fear that they won't find another. For many years the State and men have oppressed them, and they don't think much about themselves.

Take a trip to Russia or Ukraine and you'll discover the ladies are well groomed, stylish, educated and intelligent. They are rarely overweight. They walk a lot because many don't have cars, and don't eat junk food, which is considered expensive, and not good for family health. They do not have to make an effort to live healthily - it just happens naturally.

Are the ladies only interested in living in the USA?

Absolutely not! Yes, there are some women that are more interested in particular countries like the UK, Australia, Germany, France, Canada etc. More often than not this is because they know someone who lives there, or has married and moved there, or they have some knowledge of the local language - They read our success stories too! Actually, very few women specify which country they would prefer to move to - It's finding the right guy rather than a country that's important. Gentlemen from Europe stand as good a chance as any of finding their soul-mate. Their homes are nearer to the ladies' home countries, and so are more convenient for holidays back home to meet families and friends.

Sending flowers

Roses are the most appreciated (and expensive) flowers in Russia.Red roses indicate love. This isn't the 'official' interpretation, but they do bring a feeling of love. Bouquets of flowers should have an odd number of flowers in them (5, 7, 9 etc.) as boquets containing even numbers of flowers are used for funerals. You should not send yellow flowers to a loved one, as they indicate unfaithfulness.

Did we get our name right?

Yes we did! The way we spell LadysRUs is what we intended - Whilst we've had several emails asking why we don't spell it LadiesRUs, a few of you have also noticed that the sRUs at the end of our name is an anagram of USSR (where we started out), that the name of our site also sounds like 'Ladies Are Us' and that the capital RU in our name is the country-code for Russia :-)

Why do we have more than one website?

Managing the profiles of over 30,000 ladies is a full time job for several staff! Our team in Phoenix, Arizona spend many hours each week updating profiles, adding new ladies, weeding out the few scammers who try to get onto our site, and checking that ladies are still available. As you might imagine, the profile site www.LadysRUs.com gets a lot of visitors, so this site www.ladysRUs.net was created to help manage our extra services like tours, translations, gifts etc., particularly for our many clients from Europe and the UK. We also have an Elite Division at www.LadysRUs.info and a dating link directory at www.LadysRUs.biz. In addition, we contribute to a number of our partner and agency sites, and have interests in a number of apartment rental companies in Ukraine and Russia ... Yes! We are kept busy! :-)

What are the watermarks on the pictures in our galleries?

Most of the pictures in our galleries feature a watermark to ensure that our copyright is not infringed. We work with the largest agency in the USA, 'A Foreign Affair', so you will see their watermarks 'AFA' and 'loveme.com' on the gallery photographs to ensure that images are not 'borrowed' by smaller agencies looking to falsely inflate their profile base. In fact, we use exactly the same database and galleries as AFA, but tend to specialise more in introducing gentlemen from Europe, the UK and Australia to our ladies.
